Product Description
Yango Horse Chestnut Extract 20% Escin Capsules
Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L.) is a tree belonging to the Sapindaceae family (Sapindaceae juss). The seeds, flowers, bark, leaves, and fruit of the horse chestnut tree are valued raw materials used in cosmetics, among other things. The main active ingredient of horse chestnut seed extract is aescin, a mixture of saponins. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, strengthening, and sealing effects on blood vessels. Aescin reduces vascular permeability. It inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase (responsible for the breakdown of hyaluronic acid) and prostaglandin synthetase (involved in the development of inflammation). It improves venous tone, reduces venous capacitance, and lowers blood viscosity, improving circulation.
Horse chestnut bark is rich in coumarins: esculin, esculetin, fraxin, and scopoletin – which protect blood vessel walls and prevent venous stasis. It also contains tannins, which have astringent, anti-inflammatory, antihemorrhagic, and antibacterial properties.
