Vitamin K2

100 µg

  • Vitamin K2also known as menaquinone. It belongs to the group of vitamin K, which was discovered in 1929. It is naturally found in processed, fermented products (e.g. sour milk, sauerkraut, blue cheese). Primarily, vitamin K2 is involved in blood clotting processes. It is also responsible for the health of bones, teeth and maintaining calcium balance – it prevents calcification on vessel walls and the development of other cardiovascular diseases. With a low concentration of vitamin K2, calcium may not be incorporated into bone tissue but accumulates in the vessel walls, stiffening them over time, which may result in hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases.
