- Biotin – also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H. It is a water-soluble vitamin, known primarily for its properties in maintaining healthy skin and hair, as it participates in the synthesis of keratin – a protein found in the skin and its appendages. It participates in the metabolism of glucose, lecithin, and the synthesis of fatty acids, thus contributing to normal energy metabolism. It is also responsible for the proper functioning of red blood cells, sweat glands, and the nervous system. It also alleviates the symptoms of zinc deficiency. It contributes to the proper functioning of the thyroid gland, which is reflected in the condition of hair, skin, and nails. It prevents dry skin, discoloration, and flaking, supports the treatment of seborrhea, and has revitalizing and soothing properties.
