Product description

Prenatal Duo Capsules 30 hard capsules + 60 gel capsules

The Prenatal duo dietary supplement is especially recommended for women in the second and third trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. It contains lactoferrin with iron, as well as choline, DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and a complex of essential ingredients selected for their beneficial effects on mother and child, in appropriately high portions recommended by experts and the Polish Gynecological Society.

The Prenatal duo dietary supplement supports:
- proper brain development,
- proper pregnancy duration,
- proper eye development.

What does Prenatal DUO contain - properties of the ingredients:

  • Choline
This is a very important ingredient for the development of the fetal nervous system, including the brain*. As the results of the study indicate, choline supplementation during pregnancy has a beneficial effect on brain function, cognitive functions, and resistance to stress*. Supports the proper functioning of the mother's liver and placenta*.
    Lactoferrin
The results of a study using Prenatal DUO confirm the effectiveness and safety of iron supplementation with lactoferrin in women from the second trimester of pregnancy, as evidenced by the maintenance of normal hematological parameters and optimal ferritin concentration. This is particularly important for the proper course and duration of pregnancy, as well as the well-being of the mother and child*.
Lactoferrin also affects the functioning of the immune system*. It has been proven to have immunoregulatory properties: it inhibits or stimulates immune mechanisms and contributes to the innate immune system, which is the first line of defense against pathogens. Furthermore, scientific reports indicate that lactoferrin affects the level of proinflammatory cytokines and may contribute to maintaining the correct due date*.
  • DHA
DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an essential omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid. DHA should be supplied in a ready-made form through the diet, as our body synthesizes it in limited amounts. Taking DHA during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy is particularly important for the development of the baby's brain and retina. Scientific research indicates that DHA influences the development of the immune system, including in terms of appropriate response to allergens in the future*. During breastfeeding, taking DHA may be particularly important for the further development of the baby's brain*. Folate** (FolActiv®: pteroylmonoglutamic acid and calcium L-methylfolate)
The combination of folic acid and its active form - FolActiv® - supports better absorption of folic acid in women with slower metabolism. This combination is recommended by the Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians for supplementation before and during pregnancy as a prevention of neural tube defects*. Folic acid is an essential component responsible for the proper process of cell division and the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. Folates, by contributing to the maintenance of normal homocysteine metabolism, support the development of the nervous system*.
  • Vitamin B6 and Methyl B12
They have a beneficial effect on the bioavailability of folic acid. FolActiv® + MethylB12 + vitamin B6 = maximum utilization of folate's effects*. Vitamin B6 and MethylB12, together with the folic acid contained in FolActiv® and choline, support normal homocysteine metabolism. The correct concentration of this compound in the mother's blood has a beneficial effect on the development of the child's nervous system and the course of pregnancy*. Methylcobalamin is a biologically active form, ready for use by the body.
  • Iodine and Selenium
Iodine is an essential component for hormone production and the proper functioning of the thyroid gland. Its combination with selenium provides even better support for the thyroid gland. The appropriate amount of these nutrients in a pregnant woman's diet allows for the proper development of the child's nervous system and cognitive functions, which may be responsible for the child's future intelligence*.
  • Vitamin D3
Helps maintain healthy bones and teeth in the child, and supports the proper functioning of the immune system of the expectant mother. Prenatal DUO contains the recommended daily dose of vitamin D3 – 2000 IU for a pregnant woman*.
  • Iron
The combination of iron with folic acid contained in FolActiv® and vitamins B6 and B12 actively supports blood formation. Iron contributes to increased hemoglobin levels during pregnancy and the child's proper mental development*. Prenatal DUO contains microencapsulated iron, which affects its bioavailability and protects the stomach.
