What are the properties of MamaDHA + Iron?
- DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, taken by the expectant mother supports the proper development of the brain and eyes in the fetus and breastfed infants. Beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA, which exceeds the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e. 250 mg of DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA);
-fish oil in MamaDHA with Iron provides DHA in the most absorbable, natural triglyceride form;
-iron is important for the proper production of red blood cells and hemoglobin, oxygen transport in the body, and plays a key role in the process of cell division. The iron in this product is in the form of easily absorbable bisglycinate.
-Folate (pteroylmonoglutamic acid) and calcium L-methylfolate support proper blood production, participate in the process of cell division, and support the function of the immune system. Folic acid supplementation increases folate levels in the expectant mother. Low folate levels are a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus. Beneficial effects are achieved with a supplemental daily dose of 400 μg of folic acid for at least one month before planned conception and up to three months after conception;
