Magvit B6 48 mg + 5 mg 50 Enteric-Coated Tablets

Magvit B6 is a medicine with organic magnesium and vitamin B6, in the form of an enteric-coated tablet with a high level of absorption and bioavailability. The drug dissolves in the small intestine, where magnesium absorption is the highest.

Magvit B6 contains magnesium in the form of an organic salt (magnesium lactate) with high bioavailability. The addition of vitamin B6 increases the effectiveness of magnesium by improving absorption and facilitating its transport into the body's cells.

The Magvit B6 tablet is coated with a special Eudragit coating, which protects it, preventing it from dissolving in the stomach. The appropriate streamlined shape and Eudragit coating reduce tablet adhesion to the esophageal mucosa, making swallowing significantly easier. Magvit B6 enteric-coated tablets with magnesium and vitamin B6 are also important for people suffering from stomach ulcers, as they do not expose them to stomach discomfort while taking the preparation. Magnesium regulates the flow of ions in cells – reducing neuromuscular excitability. It interacts with calcium ions in the formation of bone structure. Symptoms of magnesium deficiency include hyperactivity, difficulty concentrating and falling asleep, increased susceptibility to stress, and muscle dysfunction. Magnesium deficiency increases the risk of hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart attack, and cardiac arrhythmias.

Vitamin B6 facilitates the absorption and transport of magnesium from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood, and then through biological membranes into cells, and reduces the amount of magnesium excreted in the urine, which helps maintain a healthy intracellular magnesium pool. Furthermore, the amount of vitamin B6 contained in one Magvit B6 tablet is sufficient to protect the body against deficiency. B6 deficiency in humans can manifest itself as inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes, mental disorders, seizures, polyneuritis, and anemia resulting from hemoglobin deficiency.

Composition:

The active substances of the drug are magnesium ions (in the form of magnesium lactate dihydrate) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6). One tablet contains 48 mg of magnesium lactate dihydrate and 5 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are:

- tablet core ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, sucrose, polyvinyl alcohol, colloidal hydrated silica, talc, magnesium stearate.

- coating ingredients: methacrylic acid copolymer (Eudragit L 100-55), talc, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 6000, povidone K 25, silicone emulsion SE2, sodium hydroxide.

Pharmaceutical form: enteric-coated tablets.

Dosage:

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Prophylactically

Adults and children over 12 years of age (adolescents): 2 tablets once a day or 1 to 2 tablets 2 times a day.

Use in children under 12 years of age: as directed by a doctor.

When not to use Magvit B6:

- if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,

- if you have severe renal failure,
- if you have hypermagnesemia, hypervitaminosis B6,
- if you have atrioventricular block,
- if you have myasthenia gravis,- if you have Parkinson's disease treated with L-dopa without using a peripheral levodopa decarboxylase inhibitor,
- if the patient has significant hypotension,
- if the patient has gastrointestinal absorption disorders, diarrhea.

Warnings and precautions:

Before taking Magvit B6, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

When taking oral tetracycline preparations, a three-hour break should be left between taking the antibiotic and Magvit B6 due to reduced absorption of tetracyclines from the gastrointestinal tract. Patients with heart and kidney disorders should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.

Magvit B6 contains:

- sucrose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
- less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, which means the medicine is considered "sodium-free".

Storage:

- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25°C. Protect from light.
- Store in the original package.
- Do not use this Magvit B6 after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This action will help protect the environment.
