Le Parfum opens with an exceptionally crisp blend of green, citrus, and spice notes, which are sharp, minty, and unisex. The spicy freshness of bay laurel, the sparkling bitterness of bergamot, and the sparkling pink peppercorn create an olfactory impression of a herbal liqueur. The vanilla at this stage is merely a delicate, creamy whiff, heralding a change in the scent's direction. Soon, the aromatic, herbal opening fades and from then on, it only vibrates gently in the background.
