LabHome diagnostic tests enable early diagnosis or exclusion of many common diseases in the shortest possible time, ensuring the comfort of testing - independently and without leaving home. Additionally, LabHome tests allow for the assessment of the physiological condition of organs, hormone diagnosis, and the detection of fertility problems.
The TIK'ALERT Lyme disease test detects early Borrelia infection (IgM antibodies) in blood obtained from a finger prick following a tick bite. Only a blood test can confirm Lyme disease infection in humans. The test detects IgM antibodies, which appear in the first phase of infection - when potential treatment is most effective. IgM antibodies persist in the blood for up to several months after the bite of an infected tick. After noticing a bite, you should wait 6 weeks (this is the time it takes for the body to produce antibodies, the so-called serological window period) and then perform the test.
Indications:
The test is a screening test that can be performed after a tick bite (it's important to remember that even the smallest individuals can be carriers of Lyme disease). The test can also be performed as a preventive measure, especially after the summer season, when tick feeding is increased. Early symptoms of Lyme disease (flu-like symptoms, fever, chills, joint pain) often go unnoticed or are confused with other diseases.
Usage:
The test is performed on a blood sample. To do this, obtain a drop of blood from your fingertip (automatic lancing device included), then apply the blood with diluent to the sample window. Wait 15 minutes and read the result. Check whether urgent medical consultation is necessary.
Notes:
Single-use test. A positive test result means that IgM antibodies against the Borrelia bacteria are present in the blood - two lines are visible on the test result - one in the test field T, the other in the control field C. This indicates the possibility of developing an infection - you should consult a doctor.
