Product Description

Labhome Rotadeno-Screen Test Rotaviruses and Adenoviruses

LabHome diagnostic tests enable early diagnosis or exclusion of many common diseases in the shortest possible time, ensuring the comfort of testing – independently and without leaving home. Additionally, LabHome tests allow for the assessment of the physiological condition of organs, hormone diagnosis, and detection of fertility problems.

The ROTADENO-Screen test is used to detect rotaviruses and/or adenoviruses in stool samples. Both rotaviruses and adenoviruses are the main cause of gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting). Infections caused by these viruses can be severe in young children, the elderly, or immunocompromised patients. The test device (test plate) contains two test fields - one for rotavirus and the other for adenovirus.

Indications:
The test is performed for diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting. Both rotaviruses and adenoviruses are the leading cause of gastrointestinal infections (and related syndromes) in humans, especially children and the elderly. Adenovirus is primarily associated with infectious gastroenteritis, but also with many other diseases, such as pharyngitis, bronchitis (if occurring in the respiratory tract), or keratoconjunctivitis. Rotavirus and adenovirus infections are easily transmitted through contact with contaminated objects or other environmental surfaces contaminated with feces.

How to use:
Unscrew the cap of the sampling bottle and dip the end of the sampling stick into the stool sample. Reinsert the cap with the stool sample into the bottle containing the diluent. Screw the cap on tightly and shake well to dissolve the stool sample in the diluent. Hold the bottle upright and slowly add exactly 5 drops of diluent to each sample well on the test plate. Read the test result after 10 minutes.

Notes:
If the result is positive, rotavirus and/or adenovirus are present in the stool sample. You should consult a doctor to show them the test results - especially if you have a weakened immune system or the test was performed on a child. Your doctor will decide on the next steps.
