LabHome Swim Count Semen Test
LabHome diagnostic tests enable early diagnosis or exclusion of many common diseases in the shortest possible time, ensuring the comfort of testing – independently and without leaving home. Additionally, LabHome tests allow for the assessment of the physiological condition of organs, hormone diagnosis, and the detection of fertility problems.
LabHome Swim Count Semen Test is a male fertility test that examines semen quality. The Semen Test measures the number of sperm capable of natural fertilization. The SwimCount test is used by infertility treatment clinics – the reliability of the SwimCount result is 100% relative to the most accurate CASA laboratory method. The SwimCount test result refers to the values recommended by the WHO. The test's effectiveness has been confirmed by the largest group of infertility treatment clinics – IVIRMa Global.
How to use:
1. Sample collection.
- Collect the semen into the cup provided in the kit. Make sure the entire sample is collected. Do not use condoms or any lubricants, as they can destroy sperm, except for the specially developed SwimCount condom.
- Leave the sample for 30 minutes. It is important to wait 30 minutes after collecting the sample before proceeding with the next steps. This time is needed to liquefy the semen sample. Use the syringe to mix the sample 10 times.
- Collect exactly 0.5 mL of sample using the syringe provided. It is important to avoid drawing air bubbles into the syringe, as this will affect the sample volume.
2. Performing the test.
- Keep the test device on a level surface throughout the procedure. Slowly add the sample from the syringe (0.5 mL) to the sample well.
- Slowly slide the slider all the way down to activate the device. NOTE: You should hear a "click" sound.
- Wait another 30 minutes, still keeping the device on a horizontal surface.
- After 30 minutes, slide the slider back as indicated by the arrow. NOTE: You should hear a "click" sound. The analysis window will change to a magnifying glass.
- Read the result in the window marked with the magnifying glass symbol.
- The darker the color, the more Progressive Motile Sperm/mL present in the semen sample. The test result should be read within 5 minutes of sliding the slider back. If you have any questions, remember to take a photo of your test result within 5 minutes.
