Enterosgel Oral Suspension

Enterosgel is an oral suspension intended for use in acute and chronic diarrhea in irritable bowel syndrome. Enterosgel binds certain toxic and harmful substances in the intestine (e.g. endotoxins, enterotoxins), thus reducing the frequency of bowel movements and shortening the duration of diarrhea. It is excreted from the body in the stool, thus removing toxins and harmful substances from the body. Enterosgel is a class IIa medical device, it does not contain any preservatives, dyes, gluten, fats, sugar, lactose, flavors, ingredients of plant or animal origin.

Dosage

• Children from 1 to 3 years of age: consult a doctor before administering Enterosgel.
• Children from 1 to 6 years of age: 5 g (approx. 1 teaspoon) dissolved in 50–100 ml of water, administered 3 times a day.
• Children from 7 to 14 years of age: 10 g (approx. 2 teaspoons) dissolved in 50–100 ml of water, administered 3 times a day.
• Adults and children over 15 years of age: 15 g–22.5 g (approx. 1 tablespoon) dissolved in 200 ml of water, administered 3 times a day.
• In the initial During the first treatment phase (day one), the first dose can be doubled, and then individual doses can be administered after each stool, 3 to 6 times a day. Do not exceed 8 doses on the first day.
• If stools do not appear within 1-2 days, treatment should be discontinued and the patient should increase their water intake. Treatment should then be resumed after the next stool.
• In the treatment of chronic diarrhea, the dosage can be adjusted to the consistency and frequency of stools. It is possible to administer up to a double dose three times a day if stools are infrequent, or reduce the dose to once a day if stools are normal. Do not exceed 6 doses per day.
• Enterosgel should be used for 3 to 5 days in case of acute diarrhea and for up to 21 days in case of chronic diarrhea.
• Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
• Shake the tube well before opening and before each use.

Contraindications

• The Enterosgel medical device should not be used by people who are also taking oral modified (controlled) release medications, by people suffering from intestinal atony (severe constipation caused by intestinal obstruction) or intestinal obstruction, or by people who have previously experienced intolerance to the preparation.

• People taking other intestinal adsorbents at the same time, e.g. those containing activated charcoal, clay or kaolin, should consult a doctor.
• Do not use Enterosgel in case of acute chemical poisoning, drug poisoning, or drug overdose.
• Do not use this medical device if you are allergic to any of its ingredients; this preparation is intended for adults.
• Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using the preparation.
