What is Dicopeg Endo Si Powder?

Dicopeg Endo Si is a medical device in the form of a powder in sachets used to effectively cleanse the intestines. Removing solid debris from the colon is crucial when preparing a patient for endoscopic, radiological, and ultrasound examinations, which enables an accurate diagnosis.
The composition of Dicopeg Endo Si includes macrogol 3350, an inert substance that is not absorbed, does not irritate the intestinal mucosa, does not ferment, and is excreted unchanged. Thanks to its ability to bind water, macrogol retains a significant amount of fluid in the intestines, which hydrates fecal masses and stimulates intestinal peristalsis. Additionally, the preparation contains simethicone, which has an antifoaming effect, which facilitates the elimination of gas from the gastrointestinal tract.

What is Dicopeg Endo Si used for?

- constipation;
- preparation for endoscopic, radiological, and ultrasound examinations;
- flatulence associated with constipation.

How to use Dicopeg Endo Si?

This is a medical device. Before use, read the package leaflet. Use the product according to the leaflet (unless your doctor has recommended otherwise)

- pour the contents of two sachets into 1 liter of water, shake vigorously and drink the homogeneous solution within 1-2 hours, taking, for example, 250 ml of the solution every 10-15 minutes;
- drink an additional 500 ml (half a liter) of water, reaching a total volume of 1.5 liters (1 liter of Dicopeg endo si and 500 ml of water);
- after approximately 1 hour, repeat the preparation of the next 2 sachets and take the second liter of solution (and an additional 500 ml of water) in the same way.

In a situation where it is necessary to cleanse the intestines in preparation for certain diagnostic examinations (such as endoscopic or radiological examinations of the large intestine, abdominal ultrasound) or in other clinical situations, strictly follow the information provided by the center where the endoscopic examination is performed. This usually includes a controlled diet in the days preceding the examination.

What are the properties of Dicopeg Endo Si?

- the Macrogol 3350 contained is an inert substance that is not absorbed, does not irritate the mucous membrane, does not ferment and is excreted unchanged. Due to its affinity for water, macrogol 3350 retains a large volume of fluid in the intestinal compartment, which hydrates fecal masses and stimulates intestinal peristalsis;
- simethicone has antifoaming properties, thus facilitating the elimination of gas from the gastrointestinal tract.

Warnings:

- do not use in children under 2 years of age or weighing less than 20 kg;
- do not use the product in people with hypersensitivity to simethicone or other ingredients;
- do not use the medical device in case of intestinal perforation or obstruction;
- Dicpoeg Si sachets may shorten the intestinal transit time, which may lead to a reduction in the absorption of concomitantly administered oral medications. Therefore, it is recommended to maintain an interval of at least 2 hours between taking the drug and administering the preparation. If it is necessary to use different oral preparations at the same time, it is important to consult a doctor to adjust the appropriate intervals between them.
- Do not use the preparation in case of severe abdominal pain (of unknown origin), rectal bleeding, nausea and vomiting.

Can Dicopeg Endo Si cause side effects?

- Nausea, vomiting and gastrointestinal disorders (abdominal pain, rumbling stomach, diarrhea, feeling of bloating) may occur while using the preparation.
- If the above-mentioned symptoms worsen, it will be necessary to take the product more slowly.
- Rarely, allergic reactions such as skin rash, hives and itching may occur. If such symptoms occur, it is recommended to immediately discontinue use of the product and consult a doctor. Furthermore, in case of any other adverse reactions, even if they differ from those mentioned above, it is recommended to discontinue use of the preparation and consult a doctor.
