HELICOBACTER PYLORI TEST is a home, cassette test for detecting H. pylori infection. It is used to determine the presence of H. pylori antigens in a stool sample. A positive test result indicates the presence of H. pylori antigens in the body. H. pylori is the main cause of stomach and duodenal diseases such as gastritis, duodenitis, and gastric and duodenal ulcers.
The principle of the test is based on the antigen-antibody reaction. Monoclonal anti-H. pylori antibodies applied to the test membrane during the production process react with H. pylori antigens present in the tested stool. The test result is read as colored lines on the test cassette membrane within 10 minutes.

WHAT IS HELICOBACTER PYLORI?
Helicobacter pylori is a microaerophilic, Gram-negative spiral bacterium whose reservoir is humans. It is the main cause of stomach and duodenal diseases (approximately 95% of duodenal ulcers and 80% of gastric ulcers). Infection most often occurs through the oral route. In Poland, the incidence of H. pylori infection is estimated at 70-80% of the adult population. H. pylori infection causes gastritis and duodenitis, peptic ulcer disease, gastric adenocarcinoma, and MALT lymphoma. WHAT SHOULD YOU PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO WHEN PERFORMING THE TEST?
The obtained test results depend on following the guidelines in the instructions for use. If the test cassette gets wet, or if the incorrect amount of stool sample or sample dropped into the S window of the test cassette is used, the test result may be incorrect. The test is based on an immunological method. If you have any concerns about test results, consult your doctor.
WHAT DOES A DIFFERENCE IN THE COLOR OR INTENSITY OF THE LINES IN THE READING WINDOW OF THE HELICOBACTER PYLORI TEST MEAN?
The color and intensity of the lines in the T test field are not relevant to the interpretation of the result. The lines should be homogeneous and clearly visible. The test should be considered positive regardless of the color intensity of the test line.
WHY IS IT NECESSARY FOR A COLORED LINE TO APPEAR IN CONTROL FIELD C?
The appearance of a colored line in control field C indicates that the test was performed correctly and indicates a reliable result.
HOW TO PROCEED IN CASE OF A POSITIVE RESULT?
If the test result is positive, it means that H. pylori antigens were detected in the stool sample. It is recommended to consult your doctor for further diagnosis.
HOW TO PROCEED IN CASE OF A NEGATIVE RESULT?
