Product Description

ANGINAL STREP A TEST

ANGINAL STREP A TEST is a home, cassette test designed for the qualitative detection of group A streptococcal antigen (Streptococcus pyogenes) in a throat swab sample. The test confirming sore throat provides results in just 5 minutes.

HOW DOES THE ANGINA STREP A TEST WORK?

ANGINAL STREP A TEST is a qualitative immunochromatographic test for the detection of Strep A antigen in a throat swab sample. Specific antibodies directed against Strep A antigens are adsorbed in the T test line region. During the test, the reaction of the antigens present in the throat swab sample with the adsorbed antibodies is observed, resulting in the formation of a colored line in the T test line region. The presence of this line in the T test line region indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. The presence of a colored line in the C control line region of the test indicates a properly performed test and the appropriate volume of sample added.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF STREPTOCOCCUS?

Streptococcus pyogenes are pathogenic bacteria. Gram-positive cocci are characterized by the presence of group A antigens according to the Lancefield classification and cause serious infections such as pharyngitis, respiratory tract infection, impetigo, endocarditis, meningitis, postpartum sepsis, and arthritis. If left untreated, the infection can lead to serious complications such as rheumatic fever and peritonsillar abscess. Traditional methods of identifying group A streptococcal infection involve isolating and identifying the organism using techniques that take 24 to 48 hours or longer.
